Southern Fleurieu Family Practice is open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday. We are closed on weekends and public holidays. Opening hours may occasionally change due to practitioner availability.
Southern Fleurieu Family Practice does not currently provide an on-call doctor service outside these hours.

If you need health advice when the practice is closed and the matter cannot wait until we reopen, call healthdirect on 1800 022 222. Registered nurses are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and can advise you about the most appropriate care. Depending on your needs, healthdirect may recommend self-care, arrange further clinical advice or direct you to an appropriate health service.
You may also attend the Emergency Department at Southern Fleurieu Health Service, Harbor View Terrace, Victor Harbor. Telephone: 8552 0500.
Fees may apply to healthcare services arranged or accessed outside Southern Fleurieu Family Practice.
We are currently exploring the feasibility of offering GP telehealth appointments on Saturday mornings in response to patient feedback. This service is not yet available. Details will be published if it proceeds.
If you require urgent medical attention during our opening hours, please tell reception when you telephone or arrive at the practice.
Reception staff will ask for sufficient information to help assess the urgency of your request. An urgent call may be referred to a practice nurse or doctor for clinical assessment. Please provide as much information as possible so that we can direct you to appropriate care.
If an emergency occurs at the practice, our team will provide immediate care within the limits of our facilities and arrange ambulance transfer when required.
Southern Fleurieu Family Practice does not have X-ray facilities. Patients requiring imaging may be referred to another service.

Some urgent treatments, procedures, consumables or external services may attract an out-of-pocket fee. Where practicable, we will advise you of applicable fees before treatment.
Southern Fleurieu Family Practice does not provide routine home visits.
In exceptional circumstances, a GP may agree to visit an existing patient at home. This is generally limited to patients receiving palliative care who are unable to attend the practice and who have an established, ongoing clinical relationship with the GP.
Each request is considered individually by the patient’s treating GP, taking into account the patient’s clinical needs, the availability of an appropriate practitioner, travel requirements and the safety and reasonableness of providing the visit. A home visit cannot be guaranteed and fees may apply.
Requests should be made through reception during normal opening hours. Reception staff will obtain relevant information and refer the request to the treating GP for consideration.
Home visits are not an emergency service. For a life-threatening or serious medical emergency, call Triple Zero, 000. If a home visit cannot be provided, patients may be offered an appointment at the practice, a telehealth consultation where clinically appropriate, or directed to another suitable service, such as healthdirect, the Victor Harbor Medicare Urgent Care Clinic or the Southern Fleurieu Health Service Emergency Department.
