General Practice Manager – SFFP Medical

SFFP Medical currently manages three medical practices including the Southern Fleurieu Family Practice (Yankalilla), the Australian Aged Medical Service (Yankalilla) and the UniSA health Medical Clinic (2 locations UniSA City East and UniSA City West).

We are now seeking an adept and capable individual to take responsibility for the operational performance of all facets of the Southern Fleurieu Family Practice. Key objectives for 2018/19 include

  • Sustaining the performance of our existing accredited practice located at 175 Main South Road, Yankalilla.
  • Successfully enhancing and promoting the programs and services to the local community.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide results-focused leadership to a nursing and administrative team
  • Coach and develop top talent to optimise performance and engagement
  • Effectively prioritise key business activities (patient, employee, operational, financial) to achieve targets
  • Develop and sustain productive relationships through prioritisation of customers and their needs
  • Ensure services are timely, accurate and meet legislative and accreditation requirements and standards
  • Achieve revenue and profit targets
  • Utilise financial analysis and data to effectively plan, budget and troubleshoot


The Ideal Candidate:

  • Demonstrated people leadership and relationship management skills
  • Exceptional organisational skills to manage competing priorities /meet deadlines
  • Well-developed knowledge of the primary health care environment
  • Commercial acumen and understanding of key business drivers
  • A positive and motivated ‘can do’ approach
  • Tertiary qualifications in practice/business management (or demonstrable experience)

Senior Practice Nurse


The Southern Fleurieu Family Practice is a leading rural GP medical clinic based in Yankalilla, on the beautiful Fleurieu Peninsula, just 80 kms south of Adelaide. We want to appoint a senior experienced Practice Nurses to lead our clinical nursing program and team.

The Senior Practice Nurse is responsible for ensuring that clinical programs are established and maintained to deliver high quality care in keeping with best practice in Primary Health Care…


Essential Personal Attributes:

Knowledge and experience:

  • Experience in a General Practice environment
  • Immunisation requirements
  • Chronic disease management; i.e. diabetes, asthma, osteoporosis
  • Wound management
  • Health Assessments and physical examinations
  • Venepuncture
  • Triaging
  • ECG
  • Spirometry
  • Asthma Management
  • Computer literacy (Best Practice Medical Software Program)
  • Practice administration and principles of primary care
  • Previous experience with Sterilization of medical equipment


Special Conditions

  • Flexibility in hours and days worked, including annual and sick leave relief, Saturdays (as rostered) or occasional out of hours’ work
  • Attendance at staff meetings and clinical education events as required.

The Southern Fleurieu Family Practice is located 60 minutes south of the Adelaide CBD in an idyllic coastal and rural location between the picturesque towns of Yankalilla and Normanville.

SFFP is located amongst good cafes, restaurants, art galleries, an Area School, Community Childcare Centre, and is close to the beach and other premium destinations.

As a result of SFFP clinicians participating in an imminent expansion into the Adelaide CBD, there is a vacancy for a GP at SFFP Yankalilla to complement the current group of clinicians who provide Primary Health and Emergency services to the local and surrounding communities.
